5 Months Old!

Ooh...I want it!

Not successful!!

Colin is officially five months old! We didn't do anything special, just a normal day at home. I took pictures, of course! Colin's doing well the past couple of days eating his cereal and he's getting a little better at trying to sit up. He's starting to get defiant too! The other day Rodney turned him away from something and Colin craned his head around to look at it again. When Rodney wouldn't let him, Colin started fussing at Rodney! Ah, so it begins! Earlier this week we bought Colin a jumparoo! Needless to say we had no idea he would enjoy it so much! He loves to bounce while giving us a big cheesy (gumy) smile. This video is his first time in the jumparoo. Enjoy!

9/15- trying out the new high chair!

Well, Colin is officially 4 months old now, and we made our first airplane trip to Missouri! Everything was great! First- Colin at 4 mos. now weighs 19 lbs 4 oz and is 28" long! They said he is "off the chart" in length! Colin had a low fever today from his shots I think, but otherwise he seems ok. Colin has a flat spot on his head so we are doing a lot of tummy time and trying to sit up more to round that out! The changes he makes every day continues to amaze us. He has grown a lot more hair recently, is pulling at his legs and feet more, rolls on his side and smiles and giggles more every day. He's also become interested in whatever comes near our mouths- cups, cell phones, etc. so we have to be careful! He is also trying out rice cereal. So far he doesn't enjoy it much and hasn't eaten a whole lot of it, but we'll keep trying. He did great on our trip to MO, especially on the plane! He ended up sleeping through most of it on the way there and back. We visited a lot of family and friends while we were there, but there is never enough time to see everyone, or even enough time to spend with the people we do get to see. We didn't go out and do much this trip other than going apple picking- yum! Hope you enjoy these pictures!

Just some pictures

Nothing too exciting going on here in the Verner household, but we have some good pictures of the boy! Colin's doing great- over 18 lbs (according to the wii fit!)- and he's smiling more, playing with a lot of toys, doing great on "tummy time" and he's even tolerating his car seat better. This week we'll try another new thing- flying. We're going to Missouri for two weeks! Enjoy the pictures! 9/13/09- Happy Boy!

Meeting Addison

Colin's first trip was fabulous! We went to visit Rodney's family in Las Vegas- especially to see our new niece, Addison Faith Baxter! She was born Aug. 8 weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz and 19 1/2 in. to Rodney's sister Andrea and her husband Ryan. We couldn't wait to get up there and see her! She is so tiny and precious! It's amazing how quickly they change and we're sad that we won't get to see her again until January- she'll be completely different by then! We had such a great time just hanging out with all the family and the babies. We were excited too for the family to see Colin since some people hadn't met him yet, and because he's changed so much in the month since his baptism! Colin did so great on the trip too. Even though he hates his car seat, he didn't cry much until about the last hour before we got to Vegas. When we were up there he was so happy and did awesome on his naps and eating and everything- just like as if he was at home. We do have a big, growing boy on our hands though. I think he's going through a growth spurt. We just really started him wearing his 3-6 month clothes last week and most of them are already too short or tight! Oh well... We did go to the Carter's outlet store with Andrea and Ryan to get some clothes for the babies- smaller clothes for Addison and bigger ones for Colin! On the way home yesterday Colin must have been pooped because he slept most of the way home. He did really good! Today it's back to normal. Rodney leaves tomorrow for a work trip for San Diego just for one night, so that will be a little different. In a couple weeks we try out travel by plane for our trip to Missouri. I hope Colin's as good on that trip as he was on this one!

We stay busy here at the Verner household! The little guy is taking the last nap of the day and we're waiting for Rodney to come home from work. We try to stay busy during the day- playing, laughing, singing, some crying of course, and Colin likes to watch while I do dishes or cook dinner. I had a whole audience last night- Colin and both dogs watching me in the kitchen! Most days the time passes quickly. These days where Rodney works 9-9 get a little long, but that's just because we want to share things with him! Colin's going to go on his first trip next week- to Las Vegas! That's right, our niece Addison has arrived! She was born on Saturday. We can't wait to go meet her and see the rest of the family!
