17 Months Old!

10/23- playing with his legos this morning
He crawled up on this tub on his own. Of course, I turned around and he promptly fell off head first and has a nice knot and bruise on his forehead.

After playgroup on Thursday Colin was so tired I got him out of the car, in the house, and laid him down here and made his lunch all while he stayed asleep! (This was before the head bump)

And he climbed in the cereal box.

His Halloween costume. This was a great find from our MOPS consignment sale for only $8!

Ah...the stool!

Our little baby has definately become a little boy. He's so into climbing and getting into anything he can. But, he's also being a big helper- trying to get things in the right container, he can throw things away in the trash, and he can follow some really simple directions. He loves to go use his step stool in the bathroom to brush his teeth. He of course is a "Curious George" and wants to get into drawers, get things out of the fridge, and look at everything we have. The weather has turned nice (finally!) and so we've been able to get outside and play or take a walk without sweating buckets. Enjoy the pictures!

16 months and Trip to Missouri

Family portrait at the zoo.
Walking with my Aunt Jane at the family reunion

Colin was pouring these little rocks from the ground from cup to cup. All of a sudden he was drinking them! We had to fish a lot of little rocks from that mouth of his!

Beautiful Meremac Spring! They used to have an iron mine in this park as well. Now they raise trout and have a lot of fishing. You can feed the trout which is always fun. Colin thought the fish food pellets were better to eat!

Climbing!

We went to story time at the library in Warrenton (to catch up with my cousin, Ann, and her two boys. Colin made this pig!

Having fun with Uncle Jason!

At the Butterfly House in Chesterfield. Colin LOVED it! He was absolutely quiet the whole time, in awe I think of the 1500+ butterflies flying around.

For October the Butterfly House was having a special exhibit of Owl Butterflies and Orchids. Beautiful!

Colin's carpenter jeans were perfect for storing his screw driver, hammer, and wrench!

(See next picture) Colin tried the creamsicle first, but it was COLD! I couldn't get his face in a picture, but it was funny! "Ice cream on a stick" (above) was much better!

Playing with Nathan Lind- pillows are always fun!

It got chilly at home! Playing in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard

After church with Grandma and Grandpa.

I think he's a Grandpa's boy!

A stop at Culver's after the Zoo

The new baby giraffe- two weeks old I think

Those chimps were up close!

They had a butterfly dome at the zoo too

"Doggie!" Colin loved the goats- a lot. He kept calling them doggies.

Stirring daddy's morning coffee

Playing with Grandpa

"Helping" Grandma

He is loving his legos!

We are well into Colin's 16th month! He is doing great! He is being a typical toddler - discovering new things, trying out everything, saying more words, and yes, throwing tantrums! He loves climbing up on stuff and "helping" out around the house. He's copying a lot like saying "vroom" with cars, finally waving "bye bye" and now he gives kisses! He still loves to read and dance and loves music. He is getting his canine teeth right now so he's been a little cranky, but they're breaking through and hurting less.

We went on our annual trip to Missouri Sept. 20- Oct. 4. We had a great time! Colin loved getting to play outside in grass! He also loved to play with his cousins, Katie and Brendan- especially Katie. He learned her name really quickly and would shout "Datie" really loudly looking for her. Brendan and Colin had some issues getting along sometimes, but they did ok most of the time. We did a lot of great things with my Mom and Dad and family. We went to the Zoo and the Butterfly House, and also to the Best of Missouri Market at the Missouri Botanical Gardens with my brother and his family. We saw our friends and Colin got to play with their kids too. We also were able to go to the Crowder family reunion and it was nice to see some of the extended family and spend a beautiful, chilly day outside at Meremac Springs Park in St. James, MO. I miss living there so much, but God willing, we'll be able to move there someday! Enjoy these pictures!

15 months

He has the power! Ah, the ever popular remote control. This one is old without batteries, but he still holds it up and screams like he knows he has all the world in his hand!

Playing with Tad

So happy! (Can you see his molar?)

Eating his first PB&J!

Well, not much to report here. Colin is now 15 months old. At the doctor's he weighed 28.6 lbs. and was 34 in. long. He's working on tooth #10, and probably a couple more. He's still our little busy body- constantly walking and playing around the house. We're going to do something new this week- MOPS! I hope he enjoys another day out with babies his own age. I'm really excited about it. Enjoy these couple of pictures, most taken today while we were playing.

Vegas- Again

Addison wanted to sit in the chair too!
Colin lounging at home

He found Daddy's shirt in the laundry basket

Ready for church with his new shoes, and of course the box is just so fun to play with!

He does pretty well with a spoon

Playing with cousins Bella and Addison in the sprinklers at Grandma's

The birthday girl! Addison digging into her cake

Pretty girl!

Yes, we went to Las Vegas, again! We just can't stay away! :) We went this time to celebrate Addison's 1st birthday and to take a little R&R at the Encore Resort. We had a great time with Rodney's family. We got there Saturday morning - just in time for Addy's party. She had a lot of people there to love on her, but she didn't like it much at first! Another nap and she was a happy camper- just in time for cake and presents! Sunday we had a great time at Mike's where we finally got to see Don and Arlene again! They met Colin for the first time too. Colin did pretty well at someone else's house- even a bachelor pad with lots of sharp edges! ;) Monday we headed off to the Encore. We somehow were sent this great (legitimate) deal in the mail and we decided to take advantage of it. Colin actually spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's Monday and Tuesday night. He did great! Rodney and I spent more time with Mike and Andrea and Ryan, and some time at the pool! We also got to see the Cirque du Soleil show "Le Reve" as well. It was awesome! We did sneak Colin in to stay with us Wednesday night, but I don't think anyone noticed. It was a great trip away, possibly perfect with a little time to ourselves and Colin getting to spend a lot of time with his extended family! Now we're home and back to normal. We're hanging out at home while Rodney's busy at work. I'm still coordinating playgroup for church, and I'll be in MOPS this year as well at another Lutheran church. Rodney is also on the Spiritual Leadership Team at church and will be leading a small group Bible study this fall. Busy, busy! Colin continues to grow and grow. We'll see next week how much taller he is, but he's now definitely tall enough to put toys on the kitchen counter and to push the water lever on the fridge! (Good thing that comes with a lock button!) So far no new words yet, but a LOT of jibber jabber. Like right now he went to the bathroom door and couldn't open it so I guess he came to tell me all about it. Someday that gibberish will be real words and we'll probably have to tell him to be quiet! Ok, time to go play blocks and Little People.
